Abstract

This PKM activity aims to empower the community by developing digital educational media-specifically QR code-based resources and animated videos-to enhance vegetation literacy in Ciputri Village. The program was conducted over a 31-day period, from July 23 to August 23, 2026, in Kampung Sarongge Pabrik, Ciputri Village, Pacet District, Cianjur Regency. An initial diagnosis using Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) identified strong tourism and local vegetation potential in the Bukaan Gunung Gede Pangrango conservation area, Sarongge Valley Camping Ground, and Legok Majalaya, while information about local plants remained limited to conventional signs or was unavailable. The intervention developed digital educational media consisting of QR Codes connected to short animated videos containing common names, scientific names, origins, and benefits of plants. Thirteen plant species were digitized and QR Codes were installed at three locations: five in the Bukaan Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango conservation area, three at Legok Majalaya Camping Ground, and five at Sarongge Valley Camping Ground. The implementation results show that the media functioned as a self-guided information facility and received enthusiastic responses from local communities and visitors, particularly young visitors and children. Qualitative observations indicated that animated videos attracted attention more effectively than conventional textual information, while QR Codes enabled richer information to be accessed through smartphones. The program produced a digital educational asset that can support vegetation literacy and educational tourism development in Ciputri Village.
