Perubahan Sosial Budaya Masyarakat di Bidang Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini

Social and cultural changes within the community have significantly influenced early childhood education practices. This study aims to describe the forms of social and cultural changes occurring in the community and to analyze their impacts on early childhood education at RA AL-FATAH. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, using direct observation of children’s learning activities and interviews with the principal and teachers as the main data collection techniques. Observations show that RA AL-FATAH preserves local cultural values by integrating traditional games such as engklak (hopscotch), bola bekel, and congkak into learning activities, supporting children’s motor, social, and character development. Another social pattern found in the school environment is that many fathers work as migrants outside the region, resulting in mothers taking a more dominant role in childcare. In some cases, a number of mothers wait for their children at school when they have free time, although this does not represent all parents. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that social changes—such as economic mobility, shifts in parenting styles, and technological influence—affect the learning dynamics at RA AL-FATAH. Nevertheless, the school succeeds in maintaining local cultural practices through traditional games and fostering positive interaction with families. This study highlights the importance of PAUD institutions adapting to social and cultural changes while preserving cultural identity and ensuring the relevance of early childhood education
