Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of learning and the challenges faced at Saasih Special School located in Cigugur District, Pangandaran Regency. The method used in this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through observation, interviews with teachers, and school documentation. SLB Saasih has a vision and mission oriented towards developing the skills of students with special needs, including hearing impaired, blind, physically disabled, mentally disabled, and autism. With 66 students and 9 teachers, this study describes the condition of the facilities, curriculum, challenges faced by teachers, and cooperation with parents. The results show that the curriculum used is the same as regular schools, but the biggest challenge is the mental condition of teachers in dealing with students' special needs. In addition, limited support personnel such as psychiatrists are an obstacle in educational services. This study recommends improving psychosocial support for teachers and developing adaptive learning methods according to students' characteristics
