Abstract

The ability of children to recognize letters before learning letter card game techniques at TK Assajidin has not been well developed. This study aims to improve the ability of children to recognize letters through letter card game techniques in the Bl TK Assajidin group. This research is a classroom action research, which is carried out in 1 cycle consisting of (Pre Cycle, Cycle I, Cycle Il, and Cycle Ill). Subjects in this study were Group Bl TKAssajidin aged 5-6 years with a total of13 children. The object in this study is the ability to recognize letters. Data collection techniques in this study are observation and documentation. The research instrument used was an observation guide, and the data analysis technique used descriptive quantitative. The results of the study show that the ability to recognize letters can be improved through letter card games. Children are invited to play letter cards, mention the letters on the card, mention pictures of objects, then mention the letters before them. The ability to recognize letters in the Pre Cycle percentage averages only 32.69%, in Cycle I the average percentage is 41.35%, the average percentage in Cycle Il is 59.62%, and in Cycle Ill the average percentage is 75% with sufficient criteria
