Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how the application of realistic mathematics learning in improving the learning outcomes of grade 1 students on the material of subtraction operations of small numbers. This study is a classroom action research that follows the Kemis model and as many as 2 cycles. The research subjects were 24 students. The results showed that there was an increase in the value of the criteria for achieving learning objectives (KKTP) of student learning outcomes. In cycle I with the percentage value of KKTP students reached 62.5%. In cycle II, there was an increase in KKTP of 79.1%. The results of the data analysis show that learning through a realistic mathematics approach can improve the results of learning mathematics operations of subtraction of small numbers.
