Abstract

Religious education plays a strategic role in shaping the character and morals of students, especially in the modern era which is full of moral and social challenges. In the school environment, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers not only play the role of teachers, but also as exemplary figures who have the responsibility to instill religious values in students. The formation of this religious culture is expected to be a strong foundation for students in facing challenges and problems in life. Therefore, the role of Islamic religious teachers in shaping religious culture is very important, by utilizing various strategies to be able to overcome existing challenges and obstacles. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the contribution of PAI teachers in shaping religious culture in schools and what obstacles and challenges occur in the formation. This research is a qualitative research with a literature case study method (library research). The main data is taken from books, journals, articles and other literature that are relevant to the research theme. The data collection technique is carried out in a descriptive analytical manner, namely by analyzing the content of the literature regarding its contribution to shaping religious culture. using books and other literature as the main topic. The results of the study suggest that PAI teachers are role models, by showing Islamic values in daily life both inside and outside the classroom. This behavior becomes a real example for students, thus motivating students to practice religious values in their lives.
