Penerapan Sistem Informasi Manajemen untuk Meningkatkan Efisiensi Operasional di SMK N 1 Cijulang: Tantangan dan Solusi

Abstract

The development of information technology has had a significant impact in various sectors, including the world of education. One application is through a Management Information System (SIM) which can increase operational efficiency, reduce administrative errors, and support data-based decision making. This research aims to analyze the application of the SIM structure in improving operational efficiency at SMK N 1 Cijulang. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation studies. The research results show that the SIM implemented at SMK N 1 Cijulang is still in the design stage, with most of the administrative processes still being carried out manually. However, there are great opportunities in utilizing existing technological facilities, such as Wi-Fi networks and social media, to support administration and communication activities. Some of the challenges faced in implementing SIM include limited hardware and software, as well as a lack of knowledge and skills in using the system among teaching staff. This research also identifies solutions to overcome these challenges, such as training for teachers and improving integrated technology facilities.
