Abstract

The lack of discipline, low learning motivation, and limited internalization of character values in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) have become academic concerns, prompting the need for innovation in student management. This activity aims to implement a structured and educational reward-punishment system at Ponpes Nadwatul Ummah Buntet Pesantren Cirebon. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving caretakers, teachers, and students in every stage of the activity. The results show that rewards based on moral and social recognition effectively enhance students’ motivation and participation. Meanwhile, educational sanctions applied wisely have significantly reduced rule violations. In conclusion, a participatory and contextually developed reward-punishment system proves effective in strengthening students’ discipline and character without eliminating the humanistic approach inherent in Islamic education
