Abstract

The results of the problem identification at RA Al -Hidayah indicate that delays in fine motor skills among 24 students in Class A out of 34 students and 10 students in Class B out of 24 students are caused by a lack of stimulation at home. Of the 58 parents, 68.97% do not understand the concept of fine motor skills, while 31.01% of parents do understand but are too busy and consider it solely the teacher’s responsibility. Through a Parenting Workshop that synthesized Gesell’s Maturation Theory as the foundation of biological readiness and Thelen’s Dynamic Systems Theory as a catalyst for environmental stimulation, parents were provided with hands-on examples such as making Eid gift baskets using simple snacks. The aim was to foster awareness of the importance of stimulating children’s fine motor skills. As a result, 80% of parents began regularly providing stimulation at home. Children’s fine motor skills improved significantly: 24 students in Class A who were previously “not yet developing” progressed to “beginning to develop,” while 10 students in Class B reached “developing well,” and the emotional bond between parents and children strengthened. Although 20% of parents still face challenges related to time, finances, and self-confidence, this study demonstrates that active collaboration between school and home, combined with consistent and affordable stimulation, can effectively optimize the “developmental window” for fine motor skills in young children
