Membangun Perisai Perlindungan Anak Melalui Pendidikan Seksual Sejak Dini

Abstract

The sexual violence against children is a very critical global problem in Indonesia. This condition can be influenced by two factors, namely the lack of optimal implementation of structured sexual education in the school environment and the lack of open communication in the family environment regarding the topic of sexuality. This phenomenon is influenced by the taboo perception that is still inherent in society. The taboo discussion of sexuality in the family environment is a big challenge that still needs to be faced culturally. The aim of this research is to increase the understanding of parents and educators about the importance of sexual education from an early age as a form of protecting children from violence and sexual harassment. [U1] The approach we take uses methods service learning with the initial stages of identifying problems, finding solutions, implementing activities and conducting evaluations. Results of service with methods service learning proven effective in bridging the gap in understanding regarding early sexual education at PGRI Cigugur Kindergarten by actively involving all relevant parties. This fact can be seen from the increase in the average post-test score, namely 84.25, when initially the average pre-test score was around 49.25, which reflects the lack of understanding of sexual education for young children. After the workshop was held, participants began to understand that sexual education is not just about "adult" or "inappropriate" things, but rather about giving children a shield to protect themselves from an early age.
