Kemampuan Mengenal Huruf Melalui Media Flip Chart bagi Anak Usia Dini 4-5 Tahun di RA Al Hidayah 2 Langkaplancar

The ability to recognize letters is one of the language aspects that must be developed in kindergarten children to prepare them for the next level of education. However, at RA Al Hidayah 2 Kongkur, this ability is still relatively low, as 60% of children aged 4–5 years are categorized as Not Yet Developed (NYD). This condition occurred because the previous learning process had not utilized appropriate media, one of which is the flip chart.
This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through interviews, observations, discussions, and documentation studies. The results revealed a significant improvement in letter recognition skills. Children began to group letters based on pictures and write them according to themes independently. The percentage of children previously categorized as NYD decreased, while 67% of the children reached the category of Very Well Developed (VWD). These findings emphasize that the use of flip charts is highly effective in stimulating children’s interest, attention, and early literacy skills.
Overall, this research provides evidence that flip charts not only improve children’s letter recognition skills but also create a more enjoyable, active, and meaningful learning atmosphere. Thus, flip charts can serve as a relevant alternative learning medium for teachers to enhance children’s readiness for the next stage of education
