Abstract

Early childhood numeracy skills form the foundation for the development of mathematical abilities that should be nurtured from an early age. These skills can be developed through various learning activities, one of which is counting exercises. However, the numeracy skills of children at Kober Al Barokah have not yet fully met the expected indicators. This is due to several factors, one of which is the limited use of media that can enhance children's mastery of the concepts of number recognition and addition. This aligns with theories suggesting that media used in early childhood education should be concrete, relevant, and suitable for the children's developmental characteristics. One such media is the audiovisual "Numberblocks" cartoon series. This study employs a qualitative research design with a descriptive approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, open and structured discussions, and documentation studies involving teachers and young children. The aim is to describe the implementation of the "Numberblocks" cartoon series in enhancing numeracy skills at Kober Al Barokah, Desa Bojongkondang, Kecamatan Langkaplancar, Kabupaten Pangandaran. The findings indicate that the application of the "Numberblocks" cartoon series in developing numeracy skills among 4–5-year-old children at Kober Al Barokah aligns with the principles of early childhood education and learning theories. Furthermore, the numeracy skills of these children have significantly improved across various indicators.
