Corrections and Retractions Policy

J-STAF: Siddiq, Tabligh, Amanah, Fathonah is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. If errors, inaccuracies, or research integrity concerns are identified after publication, J-STAF will take appropriate action based on the available evidence, the outcome of editorial assessment or investigation, and relevant Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidance.

J-STAF may issue the following post-publication notices:

  1. Correction A Correction is issued to amend an error or inaccuracy that can be corrected without undermining the overall reliability of the article. The correction will be linked to the original article and remain part of the scholarly record.

  2. Expression of Concern An Expression of Concern may be issued when there are serious concerns about the integrity or reliability of a published article, but the available information or investigation does not yet allow a final conclusion. The notice may subsequently be updated or followed by a Correction or Retraction when the matter is resolved.

  3. Retraction A Retraction may be issued when an article is shown to contain serious errors, unreliable data, fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or other misconduct that renders the article unreliable. A retracted article will remain accessible as part of the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as retracted.

  4. Withdrawal In certain circumstances, a manuscript may be withdrawn before publication. Removal of a published article will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and in accordance with applicable publication ethics principles and guidance.

All Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions will be clearly described, permanent, accessible, and indexable, with an appropriate link to the original article to preserve the integrity and traceability of the scholarly record. J-STAF will not remove a published article solely because an error or concern has been raised without adequate grounds.

Post-publication amendments are intended to correct and protect the scholarly record and are not punitive measures or sanctions against the authors. Decisions will be made objectively, proportionately, and on the basis of available evidence. Authors and relevant parties will be given a reasonable opportunity to provide clarification or a response.

Where necessary, J-STAF may work with authors' affiliated institutions, editors, reviewers, or relevant authorities to obtain information or facilitate further investigation.

This policy follows relevant COPE guidance concerning corrections, Expressions of Concern, Retractions, and withdrawals, as well as best practices for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
