Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of parental guidance in optimizing the use of technology at home for children in Taruna Kindergarten. Technology has an increasingly important role in supporting the learning process of early childhood, but its uncontrolled use can risk causing negative impacts. Therefore, parental guidance is key in ensuring that technology is used wisely and educationally. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with in-depth interviews and observations of parents and children in Taruna Kindergarten. The results showed that parental guidance in choosing educational applications, managing usage time, and providing direct supervision can optimize the benefits of technology for children's development, both in cognitive, social, and motor aspects. However, the obstacles faced by parents include limited time, lack of knowledge about technology, and concerns about inappropriate content. However, through appropriate guidance, parents can reduce negative impacts and maximize existing learning potential. This study is expected to provide insight for parents and educators in utilizing technology to support children's development
