Early childhood education is crucial in shaping personality and character, particularly in fostering social-emotional skills. Egocentric behavior, characterized by difficulties in sharing, taking turns, seeking constant attention, and poor emotional regulation, frequently emerges in young children. This study investigates the impact of reward and punishment strategies on enhancing social-emotional competence and mitigating egocentric tendencies. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using observations, interviews, and document analysis. Findings indicate that the consistent and appropriate application of reward and punishment strategies effectively reduces egocentric behaviors while promoting skills such as sharing, turn-taking, emotional regulation, and positive social interactions. These results suggest that reward and punishment strategies can serve as effective interventions for supporting social-emotional development in early childhood education
